What do you actually do all day?
I feel like I spend most of my day driving my kids to or from school. If I’m not doing that, I’m at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. On a good day I’ll get a work out in in the morning and maybe lunch with a friend. Or if I’m at work and none of the above happens.
Why do you live in Los Angeles?
Well, I was born here and my work is here. We’ve talked about moving, but now our kids are in school, so picking up and trying out a new city feels incredibly complicated.
If you had one day left in Los Angeles, what would you do?
Go horseback riding in Griffith Park. I spent the majority of my childhood at the barn, and it feels like a second home. Also, Griffith Park is a Los Angeles treasure.
My motto is…
Treat others how you want to be treated. It’s served me well.
My alter ego is…
Managing an Etsy store somewhere.
My secret crush is…
It’s has been and will always be Clooney. Hi, Amal!
What was your first job?
Retail in Telluride, Colorado. I worked at a very cool store called Telluride Softwear and once sold Birkenstocks to Ralph Lauren.
What is your favorite travel destination?
Sun Valley, Idaho in the summer with my husband and kids. We have family and good friends up there, which is key with young kids. We try to spend about a month there in the summer and I can usually count the times I drive a car on one hand. We walk or bike everywhere, which is impossible in Los Angeles. My kids come home from camp filthy and exhausted and the sun doesn’t set until 10pm. It’s magic.

What is your favorite work of art?
Dance by Matisse.

“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper.
If you could be taken on a guided tour of anywhere in the world where would it be?
I always wanted to see John and Yoko’s apartment at the Dakota.
Who would you invite (living or dead) to your perfect dinner party?
Meghan and Harry, obviously. Oprah, John Lennon, Meryl Streep and her husband, Rachel Maddow, the Obamas, Kathryn Ireland and Grace Coddington.
Favorite snack to munch on?
Have’a Corn Chips with guacamole.
What was the last thing you Googled?
It had something to do with climate change and the end of the world. I wish I were joking.
What is a secret talent you have that people would be surprised to know?
I’m a crafting ninja.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people don’t RSVP. Especially these days when most invites are online and it takes two seconds to reply attending or not. It drives me nuts.
Who is your style icon?
Kate Moss forever!
I was born at home, in Laurel Canyon, in the 70’s (hence my name, Ever Dawn) and the moment I could buy my first house, I moved back. We’ve been here close to 20 years.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Save your money. My family and all their actor friends said it to me, and I always rolled my eyes. As I got older I realized that they were telling me that because having some cash in the bank meant I could afford to be choosey with my work. Save your money, kids.
What are you most proud of?
My family. I’m have such a wonderful, supportive husband, and two beautiful, hilarious kids.
Do you collect anything?
I went through a phase of collecting framed needlepoints. My best find was a 4ftX9ft of the history of Massachusetts that I found balled up in the back of an antique store on Charles Street. If I ever find anything better, I’ll buy it, but that seemed like a good place to complete my collection. I also ran out of wall space.
LEKfit and Wundabar Pilates. On a good week I’ll go to each of them at least once. LEKfit made me love working out again, especially sweating. If you don’t live in LA, I suggest streaming it. Lauren is an inspiration!
The Handmaid’s Tale (It’s the only show I’ve ever been on where I am completely riveted, even though I know what’s going to happen)
I could watch A Few Good Men every day for the rest of my life.
My husband, Coby Brown.
