What is your favorite work of art?
My heart belongs to some personal pieces, like some paintings my Grandpa did, or a one-off Japanese print of chubby blue birds and peach trees that I found at Goodwill, but in terms of artists other people can find I’m really enjoying Hilma af Klimt, a Swedish mystic and painter who we profiled in our first issue of Broccoli. She painted works for the future, they were never meant to be shown until way after her death.
Favorite song growing up?
I have a distinct memory of hearing the “Crocodile Rock” by Elton John at a dance recital when I was super young and I thought it was so cool, and that the “la la la la la’s” sounded like a chorus of signing frogs, but I had no idea what it was until much later.

People with bad intentions.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
